Correa Law is seeking a driven Associate Attorney for a unique dual-firm hybrid role spanning Estate & Trust Litigation and Family Law. This position is designed specifically for an attorney eager to develop into an elite civil litigator. Working alongside Ms. Larimer—one of Illinois' top female trial attorneys and a senior litigator with over 20 years of litigation experience- you will receive direct, hands-on mentorship, trial training, and courtroom exposure across both practices. Whether you have foundational trial experience or a strong drive to learn elite litigation strategies, this role offers an uncommonly direct path to mastering contested courtroom advocacy.
Litigation & Advocacy: Represent clients in contested hearings, depositions, trials, and mediations across both estate/trust disputes and family law matters. Draft and argue complex motions, evidentiary filings, and trial briefs.
Case Management: Oversee litigation matters from initial intake through final resolution, including contested probate/trust proceedings, divorce, custody, and asset division.
Legal Drafting: Prepare high-quality pleadings, estate litigation documents, settlement agreements, discovery requests/responses, financial affidavits, and parenting plans.
Client Counsel: Provide strategic legal advice tailored to client goals while maintaining regular, clear communication through complex and emotional proceedings.
Strategy & Mentorship Collaboration: Partner closely with senior trial counsel and partners to formulate aggressive case strategies and leverage support staff (paralegals and assistants) for smooth case flow.
Experience: 0–5+ years of litigation experience. While prior courtroom exposure is a plus, candidates with a strong desire to master civil trial work are strongly encouraged to apply.
Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Licensure: Active member in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
Core Competencies: Strong courtroom presence or drive to build one, sharp critical thinking skills on your feet, excellent written/verbal advocacy, and high organizational ability.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Westlaw/LexisNexis, Clio or similar practice management software, and Family Law Software.
Language: Spanish fluency is a plus.
Compensation
$85,000 - $140,000 yearly
