The Hospitality Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring every guest interaction reflects warmth, professionalism, efficiency, and emotional intelligence.
Inspired by the principles of Unreasonable Hospitality, this role blends operational leadership with hands-on service to maintain excellence while developing strong, confident hospitality teams.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Hospitality Manager is responsible for leading Front-of-House operations, developing team performance, supporting hiring initiatives, managing schedules daily, maintaining operational supply standards, and ensuring financial awareness related to labor and operational expenses.
This role balances leadership responsibilities with revenue-generating service shifts, ensuring management remains closely connected to the guest experience while supporting business profitability.
The Hospitality Manager ensures that daily operations align with company culture, service expectations, and financial performance goals.
Work Structure: This role maintains leadership presence on the floor while contributing directly to service execution.
Weekly Role Structure:
2 Manager Shifts (Floor Leadership)
2-3 Service Shifts (Bartending or Serving)
This structure allows leadership to remain actively connected to guest experience, team performance, and operational flow.
Front of House Leadership
Lead daily FOH operations during manager shifts
Ensure service standards are executed consistently and professionally
Act as floor leader supporting servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
Ensure team delivers hospitality aligned with 7th Floor Hospitality Group standards
Monitor pacing of service and adjust floor support as needed
Assist team members during peak business periods
Maintain a visible and approachable leadership presence on the floor
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally
Ensure a positive and solutions-focused work environment
Support team accountability while maintaining a respectful leadership tone
Reinforce company culture and service expectations

Guest Experience Ownership
Ensure every guest interaction reflects intentional hospitality standards
Promote emotional connection between team members and guests
Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience
Ensure service recovery is handled with professionalism and care
Maintain consistency between Flossmoor Social and Pretty Brown Lounge guest experience standards
Encourage team members to personalize guest interactions when appropriate
Support a culture focused on creating memorable experiences
Hiring & Personnel Development
Participate in interviewing and selecting FOH team members
Support onboarding of new hires
Identify team members with leadership potential
Assist in building a strong and reliable FOH team
Support proper personnel levels based on business demand
Assist with team member performance development conversations
Ensure new hires complete onboarding expectations
Ensure team certifications are completed and maintained:
Food Handlers Certification
BASSET Certification
Allergen Awareness Certification
Training & Team Development
Support training programs for servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
Ensure team members understand Steps of Service standards
Reinforce menu knowledge, beverage knowledge, and guest engagement skills
Support consistent service execution across all shifts
Assist in conducting training shifts and skill development sessions
Promote continuous learning within the FOH team
Provide coaching to improve service quality and efficiency
Reinforce hospitality culture expectations aligned with 7th Floor Hospitality Group
Support implementation of 7th Shift communication standards
Scheduling & Labor Management
Assist in building and adjusting FOH schedules
Schedule team members based on business volume and reservations
Maintain awareness of labor cost targets when scheduling
Ensure proper shift coverage while avoiding over-scheduling
Assist with shift changes and call-offs professionally
Balance personnel needs with financial performance goals
Forecast personnel needs based on reservations, events, and seasonal demand
Support labor efficiency while maintaining service standards
Administrative Responsibilities
During the weekly administration shift, responsibilities include:
Review personnel needs and upcoming reservations
Track team certifications, onboarding progress, & documents
Maintain communication updates for FOH team members
Prepare materials for 7th Shift meetings
Assist with supply ordering and inventory tracking
Coordinate with leadership on operational needs
Assist in event preparation planning
Maintain organized documentation related to FOH operations & SOPs
Identify operational improvements to enhance efficiency
Support consistency across both Flossmoor Social and Pretty Brown Lounge
Supply & Operational Inventory Oversight
Monitor Front-of-House operational supplies including:
Uniform pieces
Smallwares
Guest amenities
Paper goods
Cleaning support items
Service tools
Bar support items (non-alcohol inventory)
Maintain proper par levels to ensure operational readiness
Track usage patterns and anticipate ordering needs
Prevent shortages or over-ordering
Coordinate supply needs with leadership team
Ensure FOH areas are properly stocked and organized
Maintain awareness of supply costs in relation to operational budgets
Financial Awareness & Budget Responsibility
The Hospitality Manager contributes to maintaining financial performance by managing labor efficiency and supply expenses responsibly.
Responsibilities include:
Track FOH operational supply expenses
Maintain awareness of quarterly and annual budget goals
Monitor labor scheduling efficiency
Support labor percentage targets through responsible scheduling practices
Identify opportunities to reduce waste without compromising guest experience
Support financial performance through efficient team scheduling
Communicate supply needs proactively to avoid rush ordering costs
Assist leadership in maintaining operational cost control
Support quarterly and annual financial planning goals
This role requires understanding that strong hospitality and strong financial awareness work together to create sustainable business growth.
Service Shift Responsibilities (Bartender or Server)
During service shifts, the Hospitality Manager actively contributes to revenue generation while modeling strong hospitality standards.
Responsibilities include:
Execute full Steps of Service
Demonstrate strong food and beverage knowledge
Provide attentive and professional guest service
Support team members during busy periods
Maintain strong sales performance through suggestive selling
Uphold professional appearance and service standards
Lead by example through positive attitude and strong work ethic
Support overall flow of service during peak business hours

Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 1–2 years in a fast-paced dining environment preferred, but attitude and presence matter most.
Physical Readiness: Able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand/walk for long periods, and work in a dynamic environment.
Availability: Nights, weekends, and holidays are expected; we show up when guests need us most.
Compensation
$37, 500 yearly
