Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Assembly Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily activities of the assembly team to ensure production, quality, safety, and efficiency objectives are achieved. This role provides hands-on leadership by assigning work, monitoring production schedules, supporting employee performance, and maintaining smooth workflow throughout the assembly process.

The Assembly Lead identifies and resolves production issues, promotes continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Working closely with the Production Manager, the Assembly Lead helps drive operational excellence, maximize productivity, reduce waste, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products to customers.

The Foreman is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and installing electrical and mechanical components used in medium-voltage distribution equipment and related products. This role assembles and installs high-voltage wiring, capacitors, switches, small parts, and other components into electrical cabinets to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality expectations. The foreman fabricates sub-assemblies, operates and maintains assembly workstations, and follows established manufacturing procedures and engineering specifications.

Using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment, the Assembly Foreman aligns, assembles, tests, and calibrates components to verify compliance with product specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. The role also diagnoses and repairs nonconforming parts, maintains accurate production records, and supports continuous improvement efforts.

• Coordinating the daily work of the assembly team.

• Inspecting work to ensure it meets specifications.

• Communicating with the project team and other departments.

• Completing required documentation and recording daily work.

• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and identifying safety issues.

• Managing materials and equipment.

• Attending safety and training classes.

• Identifying conflicts and communicating them to the project team.

• Works primarily with other assemblers and consistently meets quality and production standards based on the customer's needs.

• Assembles capacitor racks; installs oil switches, copper fuse holders, insulation, mountings, porcelain, links, and louver covers.

• Drills and installs glastic fittings; builds transformer brackets; verifies correct clearances and hole diameters given blueprints.

• Operates air sander to deburr door handles; operates mini-punches, notches, grinders, band saws, impact wrenches, ratchets, and small hand tools; makes up small hardware parts; cleans and maintains work area.

• Assists the lead and manager with training all new personnel on the team.

• Works independently with little to no supervision.

• Operates forklifts to move pallets and cabinets once proper training and certification have been completed.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of assembly techniques, specifications, and production scheduling.

• Experience in managing multiple tasks and priorities.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Analytical skills to identify problems and opportunities.

• Working team member who may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• 3–5 years of experience in assembly.

• 2 years as an individual contributor.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to walk, stand, use hands, handle, or feel, and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Able to lift up to 25+ pounds at a time.

• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.

• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.

• Must wear gloves and ear protection.

• Adaptable and able to maintain performance in loud areas where machines frequently operate.
