Account Manager - Project Management & Sales
TrueCoat Painters • Boulder, CO, US
Posted 16 hours ago
Description
The Account Manager is TrueCoat's front line with Boulder-area homeowners: part salesperson, part project manager, fully accountable for the customer experience. You'll manage residential projects end to end — generating and closing estimates, scheduling and overseeing the work, and making sure every customer feels taken care of from the first call to the final coat. This is a relationship-driven role for someone who's comfortable both in a sales conversation and on a jobsite.
Responsibilities
Sales & Estimating
- Respond to inbound leads and referrals for residential projects in Boulder and surrounding towns (Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Longmont, and nearby communities)
- Conduct in-home and virtual estimates, assessing scope, surfaces, prep work, and paint/color needs
- Build accurate, professional proposals and follow up to close the sale
- Advise homeowners on color selection, product options, and finishes, using working knowledge of Sherwin-Williams color systems and tools
- Own your pipeline and hit individual sales targets that support TrueCoat's estimated win-rate and gross margin goals
Project Management
- Serve as the single point of contact for the customer once a project is sold
- Schedule crews, coordinate timelines, and manage day-to-day project logistics
- Conduct job walkthroughs, quality checks, and final inspections to ensure work meets TrueCoat standards
- Proactively communicate progress, changes, or issues to homeowners — no surprises
- Resolve on-the-fly issues (weather delays, scope changes, material needs) and keep projects on budget and on schedule
- Collect the final walkthrough sign-off and support the collection of payment
Customer Relationship & Growth
- Build trust with homeowners so that every project earns a referral, a repeat customer, or a strong online review
- Represent the TrueCoat brand professionally in person, by phone, and in writing
- Identify upsell opportunities (e.g., cabinet painting, deck/fence staining) during the course of a project
- Log activity and project status in company systems to keep the team and leadership aligned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in sales, project management, or a customer-facing role — painting, home services, or construction industry experience strongly preferred
- Painting experience is NOT required
- Comfortable running both the sales conversation and the operational follow-through; this is not a hand-off role
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple active projects at once
- Excellent communication skills — you can talk comfortably with a homeowner in their kitchen and just as comfortably manage a crew schedule
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel between estimates and job sites
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable with accountability to sales and margin targets
- Based in or able to work primarily in the Boulder area
Compensation
$65,000 - $105,000/year
